April 24, 2025

April 24, 2025 launched a new tradition: the Anderson Wall of Fame, honoring individuals whose legacy has helped shape our school.

Please click on the photo to see more photos of today's ceremony.

Our inaugural Wall of Fame inductees are:

Emma Anderson – Founder of Anderson School, 1897 Represented by her great, great, great, great, granddaughter and Anderson Alumi Makayla Goodell

Emma Anderson, wife of Henry Anderson, established Anderson School in 1897. The school began as a one-room schoolhouse near their 2,300-acre Osage Ranch allotment, north of present-day Sand Springs.

Anderson School operated as a subscription school, with students paying one dollar per month to cover the teacher’s wages. True to their generous spirit, the Anderson family made sure no child was ever turned away, covering the cost for any student unable to pay.

A lasting legacy of community, opportunity, and compassion.

Terri King – 41 years of service

Mrs. King began her career at Anderson in 1978, where she found her dream job as a 1st-grade teacher. Over her 41 years of service, she worked under 10 administrators, mentored countless teachers and staff, and was always known for offering a compassionate ear and sound advice. As a certified Reading Specialist with a Master’s in Reading, she finished her remarkable career as Anderson’s Reading Specialist — helping students become fluent readers and discover the joy of reading.

Patsy Hilligoss – 41 years of service

Ms. Patsy began her Anderson career in 1974 as a bus driver. Over the years, she also served as a Teacher’s Assistant before finding her home in Food Service, becoming the Cafeteria Manager in 1982. She proudly served our students and staff until her well-earned retirement in 2015.

Ms. Patsy was especially known for her homemade cooking — her hot rolls and cinnamon rolls were a favorite among students and staff alike!

Teresa Couffer – 38 years of service

Teresa Couffer began her career at Anderson School in January of 1987 as a bus driver. Throughout her 38 years of dedicated service, she held many roles, including basketball coach, yearbook coordinator, student information secretary, cheerleading coach, and ultimately served as a Special Services Paraprofessional. Over the years, she became known for her school spirit — dressing up as Santa Claus, The Cat in the Hat, the Anderson Trojan, and even SpongeBob — bringing smiles to countless students and staff along the way.

Holly Shreffler – 31 years of service

Ms. Holly began her career at Anderson in 1991 as a secretary. After three years in that role, she completed her bachelor’s degree and returned in 1997 as a classroom teacher, teaching Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. She later earned her Master’s in Library Science and served as the school librarian until her retirement in 2022. In 2023, she returned part-time to continue serving as librarian until her final retirement in 2025. Ms. Holly dedicated a total of 30 years to Anderson, inspiring young readers and supporting students throughout her remarkable career.
