ABOUT THE
MCKINNEY-VENTO HOMELESS EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Anderson Public School is committed to providing all students with quality educational experiences. We recognize the challenges that homeless children and youth have faced in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school. The provisions of the federal MCKINNEY-VENTO ACT promote greater stability for homeless children and youth and ensure that each has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as other children and youth. In addition, homeless students will not be separated from the mainstream school environment. Anderson School is committed to removing barriers of homeless students’ access to academic and extracurricular activities as well as removing the stigma of homelessness.
