Mr. Williams

Greetings to all the Anderson School Parents and Patrons! I can’t tell you how excited I am to begin this new school year as your Superintendent of schools. To let you know a little bit about me, here are a few little nuggets from the history of my life so far…
I graduated college from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 but my Associates Degree in Construction Management came from OSU, so I have to say “Boomer-Sooner” as well as “Go Pokes”– it gets very confusing on Bedlam Day! I began my education career as a High School Algebra teacher in Newcastle (just south of OKC). I spent 6 years in the classroom and absolutely loved it! But I knew I wanted to move upwards in the profession, so I took a position as High School & Junior High Principal nearby. A few years later I found my first Superintendent position where I also served as the Elementary Principal. Fast-forwarding a few years, I found myself in the Okmulgee School District where I wore a variety of hats including Superintendent.
During those earlier years I also served as President of the Oklahoma Cross County Racing Association—the state’s largest family-centered dirt bike and 4-wheeler racing organization. If you are looking for a place where your youngster (as early as 4 yrs.) can experience motor-sport activities in a family centered climate, while learning the art of sportsmanship alongside the grit of competition, I encourage you to look up www.occra.com
My wife, Linda, and I met for the first time at one of those OCCRA races. We made our home in Jenks, and while we never had kids of our own, we do have a couple of cats to feed. Linda is a Lymphedema Therapist and Occupational Therapist. She works with cancer patients at St. Francis Cancer center in Tulsa.
Three years ago, I supposedly “retired” from education and started a new career in the construction and project management field. I guess that changed when the phone rang recently and a buddy of mine said, “Hey the Anderson School job is open—you should apply for that”. I knew exactly where the Anderson community was, and what a great school they’ve had over the years. Much of my experience comes from small K-8 Schools, so this really had my attention.
So, I brushed up my resume, applied for the leadership role of guiding this fantastic school, and apparently said something right during the interview process. I can’t wait to see what great things our students are capable of creating, leaning, and accomplishing. In my short time here so far, one thing is evident; the Anderson community is truly a FAMILY, and expects great things from their children and from their school. Let’s all work together to make this the best year yet!
