ORES State Basketball Tournament
It is my pleasure to announce that Anderson will be playing in the ORES State Basketball Tournament, which begins on February 3, 2018. Our boys team will play that day against Osage Hills at 11 am. The game will be played at Lone Star, who is hosting the first two rounds for that part of the bracket. Our girls team drew a bye for the first round, and will play the second round against Bowring at 6 pm on Monday, February 5th.
Tournament Brackets can be found in the links below:
The ORES State Basketball Tournament was founded in 2002 to promote communication between our K-8 school districts and showcase the talents of our students. The ORES Tournament is set up to look like the Basketball Playoffs at the High School Level. It is set up in 4 divisions based on the size of the school, again, like the High School classification system.
Anderson will be competing in Division IV, which is for the smallest schools. We were given this opportunity this year, although we are much larger than some of these schools, because we have no 7th and 8th grade. All of the other schools will be playing 7th and 8th grade students, with the exception of some very small schools who may play a few 6th graders up to make a team.
Here you will find the Brackets for this year’s tournament. We would love to have your support in this venture to face new competition and get to play in new settings. The teams are excited to do something new. For the first time that I know of, we can cheer for our Basketball Teams with a new goal in mind. So… GO TROJANS!!! TAKE STATE!!!
