Swine Flu Information

I want you to know that we have had couple reported cases of "Swine Flu" at Anderson. While we have had a couple of reported cases of H1N1 we still have a very small number of students absent due to illness (less than 15). We are taking all of the recommended steps to keep our students and staff safe. If a child has a temperature at school the parent/guardian is contacted and they are sent home. We ask that they stay at home until they are temperature free for at least 24 hours. Below is guidelines that we are following plus each teacher has Lysol spray to kill germs.
What You Can Do to Stay Healthy
There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
- If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them
