Anderson Opportunity
New Building Proposal - Bond Election
March 23, 2009
On April 7, 2009, we have an opportunity to help Anderson grow! We are holding a bond election to build a new facility and renovate some of the existing facilities. This new addition will include additional parking with a circle drive. This will make for a more safe place to drop off and pick up your students. The new building will have four classrooms to be used by the 5th and 6th grade classes. It will also have new library and computer lab. In addition there will be a new air conditioned gym. When passed, the building phase will start this summer. The building will be completed by the fall of 2010.
Some people have inquired what will this cost me the "taxpayer". This is a 2.285 million dollar bond for a term of 10 years. The cost to the taxpayer as determined by our bonding agent, Stephen L. Smith Corp. will be a little more than $.02 (2 cents)/day for each hundred dollars of tax currently paid. So, if you pay $100/year in taxes you would have and increase of $0.74/month or $8.93/year.
